Chana Dal Dhokla

Dhokla is basically a Gujrati snack, it originated there but is liked & infact loved by all of us. People make varieties of dhoklas like khaman dhokla, instant rawa dhokla, chana dal dhokla & lot more.

Ingredients

Chana dal  - 1 cup (soaked for 3-4 hours)
Rice flour - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
Sugar cubes - 3/4th teaspoon
Eno fruit salt - 1 teaspoon

How to Cook

Grind the chana dal fine in a mixer & take out in a bowl, mix specified amount of rice flour in the bowl, salt to taste , some water to make batter.
Then add lime juice, sugar cubes & eno fruit salt. Mix well and put the batter in a microwavable cake pot.
Place the pot in microwave for 5 minutes and your chana dal dhokla is ready.

Before serving prepare tadka for dhokla to make it more spongy.
Take a frying pan and put 1 teaspoon oil, upon heating put black mustard seeds(rai),  chopped green chilli & curry leaves(meethi neem). If you like sweet then you can add few sugar cubes to give it sweet flavor otherwise add sufficient amout of water to the tadka and spread it over the dhokla.

 Tip:

Here I used rice flour with chana dal but you can also soak chana dal & rice together for a night to make dhokla. Then repeat the same procedure.
