Aloo Poha

Poha is basically flattened or beaten rice. In the Madhya Pradesh region, Poha is the most favorite breakfast. Specially Indori Poha is very famous because of huge varities of namkeen over there. Poha when combined with jalebi creates magic. It is the most simple, quick & tasty snack. You just have to add some light spices and pohe is ready. Lets check how this delicious receipe is cooked.


Ingredients

Poha - 4 cups
Potato - 1 large (chopped in cubes) 
Onion - 2 medium (julian cutting)
Green chilli - 2 (chopped)
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Dry mango powder (Amchur) - 1 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds (Rai) - 1 tablespoon
Aniseeds (saunf) - 1 tablespoon

Preperation

Take a striner and rinse the poha with clean running water twice or thrice. Make sure you do not rinse it too much otherwise it will become mushy or will break down. 


Sprinkle salt, sugar & turmeric powder in the wet poha.



Take one potato & 2 onions, chop cubical potatoes, onions in julian cutting.



Put on flame a fry pan and heat 2 tablespoon oil in it. Upon heating put mustard seeds, aniseeds, chopped onion, potato & green chilli. Add a pinch of salt and cover it with a lid. This helps in fast softneing of potato.


Open up the lid and check potatoes get softened or not, if yes, then mix wet poha , amchur powder with the onion & potato.


Add coriander leaves and mix it well. Hot & tasty Aloo Poha is ready to serve. Serve hot & if you like jalebi's, surely add with poha to get the best breakfast ever.
