Raw Banana Bonde

Aloo Bonde is very famous and is liked among all of us, but people who do not like potato or do not eat potato they have the best substitute for potato, it's "Raw banana". Boiled potato & raw banana looks almost same and tastes similar too. In our Jain community, most of the people do not eat potato so they use raw banana instead.
Raw banana Bondeis simply boiled banana with some spices dipped in paste of gram flour.


Ingredients

Raw banana - 10-12
Gram flour - 1 cup
salt to taste
Ginger - 1 tablespoon (grated)
Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
Dry mango powder (amchur) - 1 1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala - 1 teaspoon

Preperation

Take a pressure cooker and boil raw banana. Do not over boil it just take 2-3 whistles.


Then take out in a dish and mash them properly. In the mixture add salt to taste, red chilli powder, amchur powder, grated ginger & garam masala.


Mix it well and make round flattened tikki. Keep it aside.



Take a bowl and add gram flour in it. Mix salt to taste, a pinch of turmeric powder & one tablespoon oil. Make a paste of it with using sufficient amount of water.


How to cook

Put on flame a frying pan with oil in it. Heat the oil and dip the tikki in the gram flour paste and deep fry. Repeat the same procedure with the remaining tikki's.


Serve the Raw banana bonde with Imli chutney or tomato ketchup or green chutney. Serve hot to get the best taste.
