Moong Dal Badi

Moong dal badi is very simple to make and cook. There are varieties of badi such as moomng dal badi, soyabean badi, raw pumpkin badi, urad dal badi etc. All the varieties tastes almost same.


Ingredients

Moong dal badi - 1 cup
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 3/4th teaspoon
Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Oil to fry

How to cook

Take a pressure cooker and shallow fry the moong dal badi, take out in a dish and keep aside.

Then take 1 tablespoon oil in the same pressure cooker, put on flame, upon heating put 1 teaspoon cumin seeds when they began to crackle put turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder. Mix well and add shallow fried badi, saute it and then add chopped tomato.

Add 1 cup water and close the lid. Take 2-3 whistles and turn off the flame and garnish it with coriander leaves. 
Serve hot. It is a great substitute of vegetables in dinner.
